No matter your role, these tips are here to help you get the best possible MM2025 experience.
Presenting at MM2025 is a chance to showcase your expertise and spark discussion with peers from around the country. Our tips will help you refine your presentation, engage your audience and deliver your message with confidence. We can’t wait to see you shine!

If your abstract has been accepted for an oral presentation at MM2025, congratulations! Now it’s time to make sure your oral presentation has the same impact as your research. A polished delivery will help your work stand out and ensure your audience walks away inspired.
Good time management is key, so plan your content carefully to ensure you stay within your allocated slot, leaving a few minutes for audience questions. An engaging presentation style will help your key points resonate, whether that’s through clear visuals, confident pacing or storytelling that connects.
Don’t forget to prepare for Q&A: anticipate likely questions and think about how you can highlight your expertise while keeping answers concise.
These presentation skills aren’t just for the conference stage, they’re also highly transferrable to your everyday workplace. Building confidence in oral presentations can boost your day-to-day workplace communication if you’re explaining a complex concept to colleagues, briefing your team or advocating for patients.
Keep refining your skills as MM2025 approaches, and don't forget to bookmark your session faves in the program.
What makes for a great poster at MM2025? It's important to recognise that layout and readability are just as vital as the content if you want to connect with your audience.
So, if you're presenting a poster this year, here's our tip of the week: design one that stands out!
Keep it clean, visual and focused. A standout poster is not about cramming in every detail. It’s about clarity, visual flow and grabbing attention from across the room.
Use a clear visual hierarchy: large title, bold headings and concise body text. This helps guide the viewer’s eye naturally through your research. Avoid heavy blocks of text and instead, use bullet points and sections to break content up.
Stick to simple fonts (sans-serif like Arial or Helvetica are great options) and a consistent, high-contrast color palette. This makes your poster easier to read and look polished.
Incorporate charts, diagrams or images that support your key findings. Visuals should simplify (not complicate) the message so avoid overly complex graphics.
Let your poster breathe. A good balance (roughly 40% space, 20 – 25% text, and 40 – 45% visuals) keeps it visually appealing and easy to scan.
Use white space to give your content breathing room with clear headings, columns and directional cues to lead the reader through your story. Set out your poster in a logical left-to-right or top-to-bottom layout so viewers can follow your story at a glance: Introduction → Methods → Results → Conclusion
Before printing proofread carefully, ensure alignment consistency, verify image clarity and test readability from a distance. If possible, gather feedback from peers before print.
But most of all, good luck! We can't wait to see your amazing posters!
