Transitions to sustainable health systems: Outcomes and recommendations

Health systems are under pressure—from climate change, resource scarcity, and shifting population needs. This session will overview the outcomes and recommendations from the Transitions to Sustainable Health Systems Consortium: Accelerating towards net zero: A guide for the Australian health system. It will explore how pharmacy contribute to practical strategies for reducing carbon footprints, improving circularity in medication use, and embedding sustainability into everyday practice to lead and support the shift to environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable health systems. Whether you're working in policy, clinical care, or education, this session will help you identify where pharmacy fits in the sustainability transition—and how to make it count.
